Sarah is somewhat of an airhead but surprises Powell on occasion with her insight; she considers him a know it all but realizes that she is dependent on him for survival and any hope of locating her family, if they are still alive. The book held my interest; the adventures of Sarah and Ross are humorous at points, taking into account their different personalities and approach to life; I recommend this book.Product details

Could not put this book down! From page 1 it holds the reader captive. The characters were delightful and the situations were sometimes laugh out loud funny. One adventure after another held my complete attention. Loved it and would recommend this to all my friends and family members.
There is romance, adventure, tension, humor, and more in this story--almost too much sometimes. The final scenes take place in Washington, D.C., after a trip across the country to Oregon and back, again covering a lot of territory. What I remember finally is mostly a wilderness tale of survival in the wild, with Indians as the enemy, rather than a unique romance.
This is the fourth book in a series, but it's the first one I read, and I really liked it. It didn't require me knowing anything about the other three books. It's a survival story. The hero and heroine encounter one life-threatening experience after the next. I don't know if this was intentional on the author's part, but I liked the way that the hero started out naked and then acquired more and more clothes as the story went on. Usually, in a romance novel, more and more clothes come off as the story goes on. So, this was a nice twist.
